New word (to me) | Peloton
One of our writers used the word “peloton” in a story today about a cycling race. It means the main group of riders in a bike race. According to Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary, the word is French and literally means “ball.” I’m sure it’s well-known to cycling fans (and the French), but I’d never heard it before.
